Bio:

"Today was definitely a different sort of day.

Zen’enji had crept away from his daily duties, his mother had tasked him with gathering specific plants from the bottom of the river, but the boy wanted to procrastinate. He wasn’t typically the sort to disobey his parents, in fact he usually followed their words without any sort of response, but today he felt an adventurous spark within him.

Today was different. Today he wanted to explore past the river.

He knew so much of the rivers in the area of the Steppe, he could easily dive into the water and navigate his way to wherever he needed to go. The currents spoke to him, they told him what was happening on the surface. Water was calming to him, it made him feel like he could just disappear and be apart of the waves. He wanted nothing more than to disappear, some days. He was rather quiet himself, choosing to listen instead of speaking out. His thoughts were always focused on the well-being of others... even though most of the children of the tribe didn’t want to speak to him.

They said his hair was much too bright, too much like fire. It felt like a bad omen to them and their ways of the water. He agreed, truly he did, which is why he would prefer to be submerged in the river. At least while in the water he couldn’t think of his hair as on fire.

Yes, but today was different. He kept on telling himself that as he swam through the currents, making his way closer and closer to the edge of the river. He saw the rocks coming closer, and he could tell that he was nearly upon the plains. He hadn’t dared to step foot on to the grassy lands, not without his mother or father around at least. His father, thankfully, had been teaching him the ways of the blade since he was small. He knew how to wield a sword, his samurai skills were much like the Doman warriors he had heard so much about. His father had interacted with them, had fought beside them even in a few battles, and he would always share such tales with Zen’enji.

It made him curious, it made him want to explore, and it made him want to step foot on to the grassy plains without his parents."

Zen'enji is a quiet and kind individual. While he does not speak very much, or even smile that often, he is often thinking of the well-being of others. Because of his constant frown however, a lot of people believe him to be a nasty Au'ra. He is extremely large, and his power and energy can come off as foreboding, and he does understand that. In order to counteract these claims, he tries his best to assist others with whatever they may need. There is a sarcastic tendency to him, simply because of his quiet nature he is able to think things through fully, and the actions of others don't always make logical sense to him. If they ask for his assistance and the task is simply illogical, he will complain, sarcastically reply to them, but eventually he will do what he has been asked to do. He simply cannot let others down.

Being apart of the river tribe has made him flexible and understanding. He is calm, just like the waters, but also he does have a fire burning within him. Angering him, while rare, will result in him going all out in whatever passionate flame necessary. It shows in his fighting, especially. He had been raised to be a samurai, however he gave that up due to not feeling as though he could ever live up to his father's samurai skills and expectations. Instead, he put the blade to the side for a long while and took up singing, much like his mother. Becoming an archer, and then eventually a bard, meant a lot to him. Being an archer meant that he would be able to assist people, while also dishing out damage to any enemies that came his way. He liked being away from the enemy, being able to look over any allies that were with him.

Since he is apart of the river tribe, he enjoys being near the water and in the water the most. In the Ejinn tribe, they use the canals and water ways to move around, rather than walk on the land. Old habits die hard, and once he had left his tribe he had found it hard not to just jump back into the water. He got used to it however, and it wasn't until after moving to Gridania did he learn... of his special powers with the Echo.

He had heard of the Warrior of Light, but he was never one of them. No, he possessed the Echo however, an ability that allowed him to emotionally bond with others and see their past, like a vision. It helped him to bond with others and understand them much easier, which was also ideal for his sort of personality of wanting to simply help people. He had met with his version of the WoL when they had come to the Azim Steppe, and from that he had traveled with them briefly in order to assist them with what they would need during their times with the tribes.

After leaving his tribe, Zen'enji had used a temporary last name, simply so others wouldn't know what tribe he was apart of. He is not ashamed of his tribe, he just wanted to start fresh somewhere and would rather have that air of mystery. Besides, meeting other Au'ra and Xaela could be met with resistance, if their tribe simply didn't like the one he was with after all.

Zen'enji wishes to one day pick up the blade of a samurai again, however he wants to train himself in all different areas before doing that. His father was a trained samurai that used to visit Doma and Kugane all the time. Zen wants to get to that point some day, so in the mean time he has taken up other arms which he believes will help him gain more honor. A bard like his mother, singing and helping people. A monk, skilled with their fists and nothing else he wants to prove he has the strength within him. A Paladin, a protector and a companion that many look towards. Once he has completed his training with those, he will then pick up the katana and try again.
